Childcare costs likely to be 'higher than expected'

Welsh Labour's promise to increase free childcare could cost considerably more than it has predicted, a report has said.

Labour has pledged to give working parents 30 hours free childcare a week for 48 weeks of the year.

That is 20 hours more than what is currently available.

Report author and economist Gillian Paull told BBC Wales the extra cost could reach £200m if parents took up the offer.
