Kirsty Williams wants 'imagination' over rural schools

New rules to support Wales' rural schools have been announced by Education Secretary Kirsty Williams.

Changes will be introduced to the School Organisation Code which guides local authority decisions about the future of schools.

Measures will include a presumption against closure of rural schools.

Ms Williams said councils could not simply close schools, but had to look for "more imaginative ways" of providing rural education.
