Jackie Kennedy and JFK letters in Welsh peer's auction lot

A handwritten rejection of marriage from assassinated former US president John F Kennedy's widow to a Welsh peer could fetch £150,000 at auction.

Private letters from the UK's former US ambassador David Ormsby-Gore, Lord Harlech, proposed "a secret marriage" between him and Jacqueline Kennedy.

The letters are part of a collection that are being sold at auction by the current Lord Harlech Jasset Ormsby-Gore, the grandson of David.

The letters are up for sale at Bonhams, and are expected to be sold between £100,000 to £150,000.
