Man who fired catapult at dogs among RSPCA prosecutions
More successful animal welfare prosecutions were secured by RSPCA Cymru in 2016 than either of the two previous years, the charity has said.
Cases included a man from Barry who was fined £500 for firing at two Jack Russell terriers with a catapult.
Stephen Charles Hammond, 60, admitted one animal welfare offence at Cardiff Crown Court in April 2016.
Last year, the charity secured 120 convictions in magistrates' courts - compared with 89 in 2015 and 116 in 2014.
