Aberdare GP hopes pilot will help cancer diagnosis
Aberdare GP Dr Gareth Jordan hopes a "one stop shop" for cancer diagnosis will mean the disease will be caught earlier for those patients with more vague symptoms.
He said sometimes it came down to a gut instinct that something was wrong with a patient, although the signs were not obvious.
A six-month pilot scheme in the Cynon Valley and Neath will try out the new way of working, which has been adopted from a Danish idea.
Dr Jordan told BBC Wales health correspondent Owain Clarke he believed it would mean earlier diagnosis.
