Cardiff Ahmadiyya Muslims claim they are 'shunned'

Members of a Muslim sect in Cardiff claim they are facing discrimination from other Muslims in the city.

Worshippers at the Ahmadiyya mosque in Canton said other Muslims had shunned them. One claimed he was sacked from a restaurant, while another said he was accosted for selling Islamic books.

Ahmadis have been declared non-Muslim in Pakistan because they believe the Messiah has already come.

The Muslim Council of Wales (MCW) said it "abhorred" any type of persecution based on religion, race, gender, disability or sexual orientation and "support the religious freedom of all, including the Ahmadiyya".

Members of the Ahmadiyya community spoke to BBC Wales.
