Water powers deal signed between Wales and Westminster

New powers over water have been agreed by UK and Welsh ministers, more than 50 years after a Gwynedd village was flooded to create a reservoir.

The deal, coming into force in April, means authority to make decisions will be shared by the two governments.

There was outcry when Capel Celyn was flooded in 1965 to create the Tryweryn reservoir to provide water for Liverpool.
