Des Lally: The man who climbed Pen y Fan every day for a year

Blizzards, snow drifts, 80mph winds, searing heat and countless torrential downpours.

Des Lally faced all this as he walked up Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons on 364 occasions in the last 12 months.

On Saturday, he made the last of these walks - the 365th - to the summit as he completed a challenge which has seen him walk about 1,360 miles and raise more than £50,000 for charity.

After reaching the top of the highest mountain in south Wales alongside his 76-year-old father, he said: "Today is the end of a long year."
