Could pine martens be red squirrels' best friend?
Red squirrel conservationists in Wales have been encouraged by news that a native predator may be helping their cause.
Research from Queen's University in Belfast suggests that numbers of red squirrels are on the increase in areas where pine martens also live.
This is because pine martens are eating far more grey squirrels than red ones.
A wildlife project in Ceredigion is hopeful it will make a difference.
