Cat stuck in Tredegar tree resists rescue efforts

It's a long way down for Cookie the cat.

She's been stuck in a tree in Tredegar, south Wales, for four days now.

The fire service, the RSPCA and tree surgeons have tried since she was spotted on Saturday, and a local firm has put up scaffolding to try to get to her.

They've even placed angled boards between the scaffold's tiers so the cat can walk herself down after she shied away from rescuers.

But so far, Cookie is staying put.
