Afghanistan: Three views from Wales as the Taliban take control of Kabul
People who have lost loved ones in or have fled Afghanistan have said they hope the country will "not be like it was before".
After nearly 20 years, the Taliban is in control again.
Sarah Adams from Cwmbran lost her son Pte James Prosser in the country in 2009.
"Lives that have been lost physically and mentally - the war is not over for us and nor should the politicians think it is," she said.
