Coastguard marks birthday with rope throwing demo

HM Coastguard celebrates its 200th anniversary on Saturday.

It will be marking the special year by casting throwlines into the sea to highlight the need for life-saving equipment around the British coastline.

HM Coastguard is responsible for the co-ordination and deployment of crews, lifeboats and helicopters in a rescue operation.
