Queen Elizabeth II: First visit to Wales to open dam
The Queen's first visit to Wales was in 1952 to open the Claerwen Dam in Powys.
It was created to serve the people of Birmingham with water.
Her Majesty was to visit Wales many times during her reign, until her final trip in 2021 for the official opening of the Senedd.
