Conjoined twins celebrate seventh birthday at school
A pair of conjoined twins have celebrated their seventh birthday after doctors warned they may only live a few days following their birth.
Marieme and Ndeye, who are thought to be Europe's only growing conjoined twins, arrived in the UK from Senegal in 2017 to receive treatment at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The pair have round-the-clock care but now go to a mainstream school in south Wales with their friends, where they recently had a birthday party with classmates.
"This is what I wanted, for them to have a normal life, to develop as individuals. They don't have to hide from anybody," said the pair's father Ibrahima.
