Wiggle Etape Cymru cyclists take to the roads in Wrexham
More than 1,000 cyclists took part in a road race in north Wales on Sunday.
The Wiggle Etape Cymru started and finished at the Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse in Wrexham, following an 88-mile (142km) route through Denbighshire and tackling lung-busting climbs such as Panorama, The Shelf, World's End and the Horseshoe Pass.
Several cyclists suffered punctures after saboteurs reportedly scattered nails on the route.
North Wales Police helped to clear tacks from the roadway.
As it got under way, organiser Gillian Veigh said the event was one of the most challenging closed-road tests in Britain.
