Give press chance to police itself, says Guto Harri

As senior politicians meet next week to consider how best to regulate the press, a top executive at News UK, the newspaper group at the heart of the hacking scandal, says the industry must be given one more chance to police itself.

Guto Harri, the group's communications director, says the will within the industry was "overwhelming".

But Dr John Jewell from Cardiff School of Journalism said the industry has previously been given several chances to regulate itself which appeared to have "yielded no positive results".
