Gordon Anglesea: 1994 libel case
Gordon Anglesea sued The Independent on Sunday, The Observer, HTV Wales and Private Eye in 1994 after they ran stories about his alleged connections to the Bryn Estyn children's home in Wrexham.
It was later established that boys were physically and sexually abused at the home.
The media organisations' defence was justification and they called three witness who claimed the former police officer abused them.
But the jury found in his favour and he was awarded £375,000 in damages.
