Give youth a political voice, Plaid AM Simon Thomas says

More should be done to encourage young people to get involved in politics, a Plaid Cymru AM has said.

Simon Thomas, the party's education spokesman, was speaking to BBC Radio Wales ahead of a lecture to the Electoral Reform Society Cymru in Cardiff on Monday.

He told the Sunday Supplement programme there was a need for people of all ages to help Welsh democracy work better by suggesting ideas for new laws.

Mr Thomas said lessons could be learnt from the demise of the Funky Dragon youth parliament whose Welsh government funding had ended.
