Wales tax powers: 'Disrespectful' to drop referendum
Former Welsh Secretary David Jones has said the UK government is being "disrespectful" to Welsh voters by not holding a referendum on giving powers over income tax to the Welsh Assembly.
The Tory MP for Clwyd West's criticism came in a Commons debate on the revised Wales Bill, offering further devolution.
It now proposes transferring income tax powers without the need for a referendum.
Mr Jones said his party was breaking a promise made to the Welsh people during the 2015 general election campaign.
