Lord Elis-Thomas 'should call a by-election'

A Plaid Cymru AM has said Lord Elis-Thomas should do the "right thing" and call a by-election in his constituency of Dwyfor Meirionnydd.

The former presiding officer has decided to leave the party he once led, sitting in the assembly as an independent AM.

Rhun ap Iorwerth, who represents Anglesey, told BBC Wales said that most people would say they were not surprised by his decision.
