Miners pension review call a 'principle of fairness'

Calls for a review of the surplus of the Mineworkers Pension Scheme (MPS) is based on a principal of 'fairness', Plaid Cymru AM Steffan Lewis has said.

Currently, the UK government takes 50% of a surplus from the MPS as part of a guarantee.

But a group of former miners are now calling for more of a share to be given to pensioners.
