More AMs 'a more difficult sell to the public'

Professor Roger Scully from Cardiff University's Wales Governance Centre says more AMs will be a 'more difficult sell' for the public.

He has written a report suggesting increasing the number of assembly members, from the current 60 to 87, to handle an increasing workload in Cardiff Bay.

But Prof Scully said it may be possible to increase the size of the assembly while reducing the overall cost of politics - with the loss of MEPs and some MPs.
