Shadow of Brexit fell across Budget, says Mark Drakeford

The chancellor's Budget gives no clarity on future Welsh Government finances, a senior minister has said, despite Philip Hammond announcing an extra £200m for Wales over four years.

Wales' Finance Secretary Mark Drakeford said it was unclear how future UK spending cuts of £3.5bn would affect Welsh public services, and argued Mr Hammond would cope with Brexit better if he abandoned austerity.

Mr Drakeford told BBC Wales political editor Nick Servini the chancellor was building up funds to stimulate the economy, should he need to.

Welsh Secretary Alun Cairns said Welsh ministers had been given the "freedom to invest" extra cash in their priorities.
