Concern over £39m Natural Resources Wales timber deal
A Plaid Cymru assembly member has expressed concern over how seriously Natural Resources Wales has taken criticism of a £39m timber deal.
Simon Thomas made the comments after the Auditor General for Wales criticised the deal in a report.
Huw Vaughan Thomas had found the transactions related to the deal to be "irregular". He said the deal was made without other companies being allowed to bid, and said he was unable to satisfy himself as to whether the transactions were lawful.
NRW disputed the claims, saying the contract with an unnamed sawmill operator were lawful.
