'Yah-boo politics' makes it harder to get women involved
Wales' Future Generations Commissioner, Sophie Howe, has called for a fundamental review of the role of councillors, after a "diversity crisis" warning was issued ahead of local elections in May.
Gender equality charity Chwarae Teg and campaigning organisation the Electoral Reform Society found that just 30% of candidates were women.
Ms Howe, an ex-councillor, warned that "yah-boo" politics, that was "particularly off-putting to women, should be challenged.
