Local councils must work together, says WLGA's Wilcox
Local councils in Wales must set the agenda in how they work together or face being ordered by ministers, their leader Debbie Wilcox has said.
She told a Welsh Local Government Association seminar in Cardiff that councils risked having a solution imposed on them by government ministers if they did not make plans themselves.
The Welsh Government has dropped plans for mergers, but has said it wants to drive improvements to make local authorities "sustainable for the future".
