Brexit: Carwyn Jones says deal means 'open border with EU'

Wales' First Minister Carwyn Jones has welcomed Theresa May's last-minute Brexit deal which he claimed amounted to an "open border with the EU" for the whole UK.

She has made concessions over the issue of the Irish border, which prompted the Democratic Unionists to block an earlier deal on Monday.

The UK government has promised to guarantee "full alignment" of regulations that supported cross-border co-operation in Ireland if they were not delivered by an eventual overall UK-EU trade agreement.

Mr Jones said he noted the Irish government was content there was a solution, although "it's not clear what that solution actually means".
