Aamir Siddiqi: Murdered in hitmen house mix-up

BBC Radio Wales examines how a collapsed property deal led to the murder of a bright teenager after drugged-up hitmen targeted the wrong house.

Aamir Siddiqi, 17, was stabbed to death in his home in April 2010 after he answered the door to two killers.

Jason Richards, 38, and Ben Hope, 39, were convicted of his murder at Swansea Crown Court.

Their trial had heard the pair were paid just £1,000 each by an unnamed businessman to kill a different person who lived near Aamir's home in the Roath area of the city.

But the pair, both high on heroin, called at the wrong house and attacked Aamir and his parents, who were injured as they tried in vain to defend him.
