Christmas travel hit by continued snowy weather

Hundreds have spent the first part of the Christmas holiday stranded in airports in Paris and Brussels, as freezing weather conditions continue to paralyse the transport network in Western Europe.

Airport schedules are slowly returning to normal and dealing with the backlog of delayed travellers, but there are warnings of more delays and cancellations.
