UN condemns Syria massacre in Houla

The UN Security Council has condemned the Syrian government's assault on the town of Houla on Friday in which 108 people were killed and 300 injured.

The UK ambassador, Sir Mark Lyall Grant and the German Ambassador, Peter Wittig, were among UN officials to condemn the attack.

After an emergency meeting in New York, the Syrian ambassador to the UN, Bashar Jaafari, denounced what he called a 'tsunami of lies'.
