Nigerian farmers take oil giant to court over spills

Four Nigerian farmers are suing Shell in The Hague, claiming oil spills have ruined their livelihoods.

Lawyers for the farmers argue that the oil giant should have prevented the spills but Shell argues that criminal damage is to blame.

They said repairs were hard to carry out because of insecurity in the Niger Delta, as Anna Holligan reports.
