Israeli air strike kills Hamas military chief in Gaza

The military commander of the Islamist group Hamas has been killed after Israel launched a series of air strikes on Gaza.

Israel said Ahmed Said Khalil al-Jabari was deliberately targeted, as they blamed him for "all terrorist activities against Israel from Gaza" in the last decade. It was part of a wider Israeli operation against militant groups in the Hamas-run Gaza Strip, following a wave of rocket attacks against Israel from the territory.

Hamas spokesman Abu Zuhri said: "Israel will regret the moment they even thought of doing this."

Jon Donnison reports from Gaza.
