Bayeux tapestry panel nears completion

Members of a small community in Alderney are completing the final panels of the Bayeux Tapestry.

The famous embroidery was commissioned by William the Conqueror's half-brother Bishop Odo to celebrate his victory over Harold Godwinson at the Battle of Hastings in 1066.

However, the final segment was lost and nearly 350 people have since worked on completing the tapestry.

Robert Hall reports.
