Campaign to find foster care for most challenging youth

The 'Resilience Foster Care Scheme' launched by Staffordshire County Council has targeted police, prison officers and social workers to be foster cares for children with the most challenging behavioural needs.

The country's leading charity in this field, The Fostering Network, estimated that there is a currently a shortfall of 9,000 foster carers in the UK.

BBC Radio 5 Live's Victoria Derbyshire spoke to Tom Wardle a former policeman and a resilience foster carer, Brian Johnson the co-ordinator for the Resilience Fostering team in Staffordshire and Vicky who was in care from the age of 13 and ended up self-harming, drinking and living on the streets.
