Syria: Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery launches Oxfam appeal

Oxfam has launched its 12 Days of Giving appeal to help Syrian refugee families in Jordan and Lebanon as they suffer the harsh conditions of winter.

Oxfam is hoping to raise £1m for its emergency response. The charity says many people are still wearing the thin summer clothes they brought with them from Syria.

The British government said on Tuesday it would match all public donations to the Oxfam appeal.

Last month, the actress Michelle Dockery, best know for playing Lady Mary in Downton Abbey, visited refugees in Jordan.
