Nelson Mandela 'worked tirelessly for ANC'

The secretary general of the African National Congress, Gwede Mantashe, has paid tribute to Nelson Mandela who has died at the age of 95.

Mr Mandela joined the ANC in 1943, and after his release from prison led the party to victory in the country's first multi-racial elections in 1994.

He said Nelson Mandela had "worked tirelessly for the ANC and a free South Africa".
