Gulnara Karimova treated 'worse than dog' during house arrest

From glamorous pop star to UN envoy - Gulnara Karimova has had many incarnations.

But the daughter of Uzbekistan's President Islam Karimov has seen a spectacular fall from grace following a corruption scandal.

As her empire crumbled she became openly critical of key figures in the regime and was subsequently placed under house arrest.

The BBC has now obtained audio recordings by Ms Karimova. She claims that she and her daughter are being treated "worse than dogs" and are in need of urgent medical help.

Natalia Antelava reports.
