Forces attack IS in Iraq despite hostage murder threat

Iraqi forces are understood to have attacked jihadists of Islamic State (IS) in Anbar Province as well as battling Islamic fighters in Tikrit.

US aircraft have also launched fresh strikes against IS militants in Iraq, despite threats that the group will kill a second American captive.
