Save the Children: 'Moral imperative' to save migrants

There is growing pressure on the European Union to do more to help the increasing number of migrants trying to cross the Mediterranean from north Africa.

Save the Children has launched a campaign for the EU to reverse cuts to its rescue mission.

The Italian coastguard says as many as 10,000 have been rescued from boats in the Mediterranean in the past few days.

Save the Children's Gemma Parkin recently returned from Lampedusa. She told the BBC's Victoria Derbyshire that there is a "moral imperative" to save migrants at sea.
