Mountain nudes: Briton's father 'relieved and grateful'

The father of a British woman jailed and fined for committing a public disturbance has said he is "relieved" and "grateful" to the Malaysian authorities for the sentence.

Timothy Hawkin's 24-year-old daughter, Eleanor Hawkins, was one of 10 tourists who stripped and posed for photos atop the sacred Mount Kinabalu.

She admitted a charge of "committing an obscene act in public" on Friday and was sentenced to three days in jail and fined almost £900.

Her sentence was back-dated to reflect time already served, but it is unclear when she will return to the UK.
