Schoolboy Gift Charles talks about his life in the village of Gomani, in south-eastern Malawi.

The 10-year-old boy has to go to school hungry, without any breakfast, because food is scarce following floods that have swept away crops.

His mother hopes he will be able to stay in school so he can make a better life for the family.
