Last UK Guantanamo detainee Shaker Aamer to be freed

The last British resident of Guantanamo Bay detention camp, Shaker Aamer, is to be released and will return to the UK.

Shaker Aamer, who has been in the military prison in Cuba since 2002, has never been charged or been on trial.

He will be freed to the UK, where he has permission to live indefinitely because his wife is a British national.
