'Family portraits' of East London pubs

Described as "an endangered British species", London's traditional pubs are shutting their doors at a rate of roughly 30 a week.

But some manage to stay open by reinventing themselves as hip gastropubs and entertainment spaces.

Photographer Jan Klos went to East London, home to many of the capital's original public houses - as they were originally known - to pay homage to a vanishing institution.
