Why India's two medal Olympic success is significant

The world's second most populous nation sent more than a hundred athletes to the Games but only two of them won medals, a silver and a bronze.

But the fact that both winners are women is being celebrated across India.

So why is this relatively modest Olympic success being seen as so significant for the country?
