At least 20 killed in Congo protests, says United Nations
The United Nations says more than 20 people have been killed in protests in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
There has been gunfire in the capital Kinshasa, where people blocked roads and burned tyres, and protestors are demanding that President Joseph Kabila step down after his mandate expired at midnight on Monday.
Elections have been postponed until 2018, although not all opposition groups have agreed to the new date. Thomas Fessy reports
