Chief prosecutor on Naomi Campbell's appearance at Taylor trial

Supermodel Naomi Campbell is expected to take the stand on Thursday at the Special Court for Sierra Leone, sitting in The Hague, to give evidence at the war crimes trial of former Liberian President, Charles Taylor.

Her appearance centres on the allegation that Ms Campbell accepted a diamond from Taylor over a decade ago - a claim she denies.

The prosecution hopes to prove that the former president's gift was a so-called "blood diamond" - an uncut gem mined in neighbouring Sierra Leone, and a product of years of a devastating civil war across Liberia's border that Taylor is accused of fuelling and bankrolling.

Africa correspondent Andrew Harding spoke to Brenda Hollis, the Special Court's chief prosecutor, about what they hope to learn from Ms Campbell.
