Paul Kagame denies UN Rwanda genocide allegations

Rwandan President Paul Kagame has described as "absurd" allegations that Rwandan troops may have committed genocide in the 1990s.

A draft UN report leaked to the media suggests Rwandan soldiers could have been involved in the killing of thousands of Hutu refugees who fled to DR Congo following unrest in 1994.

President Kagame said the report was written by people whose "hatred for Rwanda... is well known".
