Libya unrest: The struggle for control of Zawiya

Libyan leader Col Gaddafi is facing the biggest challenge to his 41-year rule, but still controls the capital Tripoli.

However the centre of Zawiya, about 50km (30 miles) to the west, was being held by the anti-Gaddafi camp on Sunday.

They appeared buoyant and determined, but pro-Gaddafi supporters have also been out in force on the outskirts of city.

Jeremy Bowen was accompanied by Libyan officials as he observed events taking place there.
