Hague welcomes Libya UN backed action
Foreign secretary William Hague has welcomed the resolution authorising 'all necessary measures' to protect civilians in Libya by the United Nations Security Council.
Speaking to the BBC, Mr Hague said "This resolution calls for an immediate ceasefire" and was needed to avoid "greater bloodshed".
The UN Security Council has backed a no-fly zone over Libya and "all necessary measures" short of an invasion "to protect civilians and civilian-populated areas".
