Moussa Koussa 'took sick leave', says Libyan government

A Libyan government spokesman has denied Foreign Minister Moussa Koussa defected, claiming he left Libya due to ill health.

The spokesman said: "Mr Moussa Koussa asked for sick leave because he was exhausted physically and he had diabetes."

The UK says it has not offered immunity from prosecution to Koussa, who reportedly defected when he flew to Britain on Wednesday.
